ABOUT TAPEBC
The Association of Professional Electrologists of BC (TAPEBC) was formed in 1979 to foster professionalism and educational opportunities for the Electrolysis community in British Columbia. By 1982 TAPEBC had joined together with Electrology Associations across Canada to form the Federation of Canadian Electrolysis Associations (FCEA.org) to facilitate a voice for Electrologists and consumers of Electrolysis from coast to coast.
In 1989, TAPEBC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Job Training (BC), created an approved 500 hour Electrology Curriculum and standardized Board Exam to help encourage minimum competency for the practice of Electrolysis and was granted the title of RE, or Registered Electrologist for members in good standing who had met this level of assessment. Ultimately, this standard was adopted by the FCEA as CPE, or Certified Professional Electrologist and is recognized across most Canadian provinces.
TAPEBC encourages professional development and advocates for consumers seeking reliable services. As an unregulated industry, commitment to a standard of care is essential for consumer confidence.
